SIRIUS S0 power contactor for motor loads
The Siemens 3RT2026-2AV00 is a SIRIUS S0-frame power contactor designed for switching three-phase motor loads in industrial control panels. Its AC-3 rating of 21 A at 480 V defines the motor full-load current it can handle under standard starting conditions — that's the figure to size against your motor nameplate, not the AC-1 resistive rating. The S0 frame keeps the footprint compact at 45 mm wide, so it fits standard 35 mm DIN-rail enclosures without crowding adjacent devices. Main contacts are configured as 18... 8 (normally-open / normally-closed), and an auxiliary switch is built in — no separate add-on needed for basic status feedback. The coil termination uses spring-type terminals, which speeds panel wiring compared to screw clamps; the power and auxiliary wiring accepts solid or stranded conductors from 1 to 10 mm².
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw fixing or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and can be tilted forward/backward by ±22.5° — useful when orienting the panel layout around cable entries or busbar runs. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm forwards, and 6 mm at the sides. Depth is 97 mm, so factor that into enclosure depth calculations, especially with door-mounted operators or terminal blocks behind the rail.
Sourcing and fit considerations
This contactor is a current-production SIRIUS S0 unit, so it's available through normal supply — no last-time-buy or broker scavenging needed. The 45 mm width and DIN-rail clip mean it swaps directly into any panel designed for S0 contactors. If your BOM was built around a 3RT2016-1AG62, check the coil voltage and auxiliary contact configuration — the frame and mounting are identical, but the 3RT2026-2AV00 carries a higher AC-3 current rating (21 A vs the 1AG62's lower rating), so it's a functional upgrade if your load demands it.
