What this contactor is and where it fits
The Siemens 3RT2026-2CL24-3MA0 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S0 frame size, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It mounts via screw fixing or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715, and the magnet coil uses spring-type terminals for fast wiring without screw tightening. At 45 mm wide, 102 mm tall, and 144 mm deep, this S0 contactor fits standard panel layouts and leaves room for adjacent devices on the DIN rail.
Switching frequency and duty ratings
The contactor is rated for 1,000 switching cycles per hour in AC-1 resistive load duty, 750 cycles/h in AC-2 and AC-3 motor duty, and 250 cycles/h in the demanding AC-4 plugging/reversing duty. These numbers define the thermal limit of the contactor under load — exceeding them shortens mechanical life or risks contact welding. The mechanical service life is rated at 10 million operating cycles typical, which gives a baseline for maintenance planning in high-cycle applications like conveyor systems or pump stations.
Wiring and conductor sizing
Main power terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 1 to 10 mm², and the auxiliary/coil terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. The spring-type coil terminals eliminate the need for screwdriver torque checks during panel build. Clearance spacing around the contactor is specified: 10 mm upwards, downwards, and forwards, and 6 mm at the sides. These minimum air gaps must be maintained for proper heat dissipation and arc quenching.
Environmental range and mounting flexibility
Operates from -25 °C to +60 °C ambient, with storage range from -55 °C to +80 °C. The mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward, giving flexibility in tight enclosures.
