What it is and where it fits
The Siemens 3RT2027-1AV00 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the size S0 frame, designed for switching motor loads in control panels. It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with a width of 45 mm and depth of 97 mm, so it fits standard panel layouts without special bracketry.
Motor switching capability at 480 V
Rated at 27 A at 480 V AC-3, this contactor handles typical three-phase induction motors up to that current in the most common industrial voltage class in North America. The AC-3 rating governs motor starting and running — the contactor must interrupt locked-rotor current during starting, and 27 A at 480 V gives a solid margin for a 15 hp motor at that voltage.
Integration notes
Screw-type terminals for the magnet coil and main contacts accept solid or stranded wire from 1 to 10 mm², with dual-wire capability for 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²). Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward, giving flexibility in tight enclosures. Minimum clearance at the side is 6 mm; upward, downward, and forward clearance is 10 mm.
