The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2027-1BE40 is a size S0 power contactor with a 24 VDC magnet coil terminated at screw-type terminals. It is rated for 10 A at 24 V DC on the auxiliary contacts, with a mechanical life of 10 million operations typical. The contactor mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and the mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface plus ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when fitting into tight panel layouts.
Clearance and wiring
The contactor occupies a 45 mm width, 85 mm height, and 107 mm depth footprint. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 6 mm at the side. Main contact wiring accepts solid or stranded conductors from 1 to 10 mm²; auxiliary wiring accepts 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded. The arcing time is 10 ms, and DC switching operates at 15 to 18 ms.
Switching performance and ratings
Rated operational current on the main contacts: 16 A at AC-3 (motor duty) and 8 A at AC-1 (resistive duty). Maximum switching frequency: 1000 operations per hour at AC-1, 750 at AC-2 and AC-3, and 250 at AC-4. The auxiliary contact ratings span from 10 A at 24 V DC down to 0.3 A at 220 V DC. The contactor is designed for an operating temperature range of -25 to +60 °C and storage from -55 to +80 °C.
