What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2027-2CL24-3MA0 is a size S0 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil and spring-type terminals, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, using screw or snap-on fastening, and fits a 45 mm wide slot in the enclosure.
What the ratings mean
The contactor is rated for 6 A at 24 VDC across the main contacts, with lower ratings at higher voltages: 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.9 A at 125 V. For AC motor duty, the mechanical life is 10 million operations typical, and the maximum switching frequency varies by duty class: 1000 cycles/h for AC-1 (resistive), 750 cycles/h for AC-2 and AC-3 (motor start/run), and 250 cycles/h for AC-4 (plugging/inching). The arcing time is 10 ms at 50 Hz.
Mounting and integration
The contactor accepts solid or stranded conductors from 1 to 10 mm² on the main circuit, with dual-wire capability for 2x (0.5 to 2.5 mm²). The spring-type terminals require no screwdriver torque, reducing wiring time. Clearance distances: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, and 6 mm at the side. The mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward, giving flexibility in tight panels.
