Integrator note — SIRIUS power contactor 3RT2035-1AG60
The Siemens 3RT2035-1AG60 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S2, rated 40 A at 480 V — that is the AC-3 motor-switching current, so it handles a 7.5 hp motor at 230 V or a 40 A resistive load at 480 V. Screw-type coil terminals and an integrated auxiliary switch are standard. Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with 10 mm clearance needed above, below, and forward, and 6 mm at the sides.
Duty-cycle and mechanical endurance
Mechanical life is rated at 10 million operations typical. Maximum switching rates vary by duty: 1 200 ops/h under AC-1 (resistive), 1 000 ops/h under AC-3 or AC-3e (motor start/run), 750 ops/h under AC-2, and 300 ops/h under AC-4 (plugging/inching). The operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C.
Mounting and wiring
Mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward. Main contacts are 18 to 1 (normally open). Wire range for main and auxiliary circuits: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded. Arcing time is 10 to 20 ms; pull-in at 50 Hz is 0.36, at 60 Hz is 0.39.
