Switching frequency and contact ratings
Maximum switching frequency varies by duty: 1 200 1/h at AC-1, 750 1/h at AC-2, 1 000 1/h at AC-3 and AC-3e, and 300 1/h at AC-4. The AC-3 and AC-3e ratings (1 000 1/h) cover standard motor starting duty; the AC-4 rating (300 1/h) reflects the more severe inching/plugging duty cycle. Auxiliary contact ratings are voltage-dependent: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, 0.6 A at 440 V, and 40 A at 480 V. The motor horsepower rating at 230 V is 7.5 hp.
Arcing time is 10 to 20 ms, with switching time (at AC) of 10 to 18 ms. Power factor at 50 Hz is 0.36, at 60 Hz is 0.39. Main contact wire sizes: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded.
