Siemens 3RT2035-3AL20 — SIRIUS S2 Power Contactor, Spring-Terminal
The Siemens 3RT2035-3AL20 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S2, rated for AC-3 duty at 480 V and 40 A — that's the motor-switching current, not the resistive load curve. Spring-type terminals on the coil and main contacts speed up panel wiring; no screw torque to verify, just strip to 8 mm and push. The contactor snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 or screws to a backplate, with ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward. Mechanical life is typical 10 million operations. At AC-3 duty the max switching rate is 1 000 cycles per hour; at AC-4 (plugging/reversing) it drops to 300 cycles per hour. The arcing time runs 10 to 20 ms, and the contactor carries an auxiliary switch block from the factory.

The 3RT2035-3AL20 measures 55 mm wide, 114 mm tall, and 130 mm deep. For side-by-side mounting on DIN rail, allow 6 mm lateral clearance between contactors; 10 mm upward and forward, 10 mm downward. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range -55 to +80 °C. Main contacts accept 2 × (0.5 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors.
