SIRIUS S2 power contactor
The Siemens 3RT2035-3AP00 is a SIRIUS S2 power contactor, rated 40 A at 480 V with spring-type terminals and a factory-fitted auxiliary switch. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, making it a direct panel integration for standard control cabinets.
Ratings and what they mean for fit
The 40 A at 480 V rating is the main power handling figure — this contactor switches motor loads up to that current at 480 VAC. For lighter duty cycles, the AC-1 maximum switching rate is 1,200 operations per hour, AC-3 at 1,000 ops/h, and AC-4 at 300 ops/h. The S2 frame size gives a physical footprint of 55 mm wide, 114 mm high, and 130 mm deep — plan the DIN rail spacing and enclosure depth accordingly. Spring-type terminals accept 2x (0.5... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors — no screwdriver torque check needed, just strip and push. The auxiliary switch is built in, saving a slot on the rail for a separate aux block.
Mounting and integration
Mounting position is flexible: +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward by +/- 22.5°. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 6 mm at the side. This fits standard 60 mm deep enclosures with room for gland plates.
