SIRIUS Size S2 power contactor — 24 V DC coil, spring-type terminals
It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and the mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface plus +/-22.5° forward/backward tilt, which gives flexibility in tight enclosures. The main contacts are configured as 3 normally open (3NO), and an auxiliary switch is included on the unit.
The AC-1 thermal current rating hits 40 A at 480 V and 41 A at 600 V, so it handles resistive heater or lighting loads up to that continuous current without derating. For motor duty, the AC-3 rating for a 3-phase induction motor at 480 V is 7.5 hp — that's the figure to match against your motor nameplate. The DC coil pulls a 3 A inrush peak then holds at a lower sealed current; the operate time is 30 to 55 ms with an arcing time of 10 to 20 ms, which is typical for a contactor this size. The auxiliary contact set is rated for switching DC loads: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, 0.6 A at 440 V, and 2 A at 500 V. These are the maximums for the built-in auxiliary switch — useful for interlocking or status feedback without adding a separate block. Mechanical life is 10 million operations typical, and the operating temperature range is -40 to +70 °C with storage from -55 to +80 °C. The spring-type terminals accept 2 x 0.5 to 2.5 mm² solid or stranded wire — strip length matters but is standard for cage-clamp style.
At 55 mm wide, 114 mm tall, and 130 mm deep, this Size S2 contactor fits standard DIN-rail spacing. The spring-type terminals reduce wiring time compared to screw terminals, especially on repetitive panel builds.
