Panel fit — DIN-rail footprint and clearances
That 6 mm side gap is tight — adjacent devices or wire troughs need to respect it for arc flash and cooling. Useful for angled subpanels or machinery enclosures where the rail isn't perfectly vertical.
AC-3 current at 480 V — the number that matters for motor switching
Rated 52 A at 480 V in AC-3 duty — that's the motor-switching rating, not the resistive AC-1 figure. For a 480 V motor load, this contactor handles up to 52 A of making and breaking current, which covers most 30–40 HP three-phase motors at that voltage. The AC-1 maximum switching rate is 1,000 operations per hour; AC-3 drops to 800/h, and AC-4 (plugging/inching) is 250/h — the arc erosion at higher duty cycles limits the mechanical life. Mechanical life typical is 10 million operations — that's the unloaded cycle count. Electrical life under AC-3 load will be lower; the arcing time of 10–20 ms per break is the window where contact wear happens.
Auxiliary contact block — integrated, not add-on
Comes with an auxiliary switch built in — 1 NO + 1 NC configuration (18... 1 meaning 18 terminals for NO, 1 for NC on the main contact block). That covers most PLC output cards and relay coils without an intermediate interface. No spring-cage option on this variant; factor in screw-torque tooling for the panel build.
