The Siemens 3RT2036-1AU60 is a SIRIUS S2 power contactor rated for 52 A at 480 V in AC-3 duty — that's the current it can switch motor loads under full load, not just carry. It's the size S2 frame, which means it fits the standard 55 mm wide slot in a SIRIUS modular system.
Duty cycle and switching frequency by load type
The maximum switching rate depends on the duty class: 1,000 cycles/hour in AC-1 (resistive loads), 800 in AC-3 (motor running), 600 in AC-2 (slip-ring motor start), and 250 in AC-4 (plugging/inching). For AC-3e (enhanced motor switching) it's also 800 cycles/hour. The arcing time spans 10 to 20 ms, and the dropout time (AC) is 10 to 18 ms — important for coordination with upstream protection.
