The Siemens 3RT2036-3AH00 is a SIRIUS power contactor in Size S2, fitted with spring-type terminals for tool-free wiring of 2x (0.5 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and the mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface plus +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when panel layout is tight and you need to orient the contactor to match cable entry. The headline AC-3 motor-switching rating lands at 52 A at 480 V, which covers a 10 hp load at 230 V and steps up from there. AC-3 motor duty allows 800 cycles per hour. That 800 ops/h figure tells you this contactor is designed for moderate cycling — conveyor sections, pump starts, fan control — not for high-speed pick-and-place or servo indexing.
Terminals and integration
Spring-type terminals on the main and coil circuits accept 2x (0.5 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded with ferrule. No screwdriver torque check needed — strip to 8 mm, push in, done. The auxiliary switch is included (18 to 1 configuration for main contacts), so you get feedback contacts without an add-on block. That 6 mm side gap is tighter than some older panel layouts expect — if you are retrofitting into a cabinet built for a different contactor footprint, check that side clearance before committing the DIN rail.
