SIRIUS 3RT2036-3SP30 — Size S2 Power Contactor with Spring-Type Terminals
The Siemens 3RT2036-3SP30 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the Size S2 frame. Its coil is rated for 175... 280 V AC, with a pickup threshold of 0.8 x rated value and a dropout margin of 1.1 x full-scale value. The main contacts are terminated with spring-type terminals (cage-clamp style), accepting 2x (0.5... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors. That saves a good five minutes per connection versus screw terminals on a panel build, and the vibration resistance is better — no re-torque on commissioning. Mounting is screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5°, so you can fit it into tight enclosures without worrying about orientation derating — just keep the ambient within -25... +60 °C during operation and -55... +80 °C during storage.
Auxiliary Contact Block and Switching Performance
This variant includes an integrated auxiliary switch block with 1 N/O + 1 N/C configuration (18... 1 contacts per the ordering code). The auxiliary contacts are rated for 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.9 A at 125 V — these are the DC ratings, so if you're switching a 24 VDC PLC input, you have headroom; at 125 VDC you're near the limit, so factor in the load type. Arcing time is 10... 20 ms, and the contactor can handle up to 1 000 switching cycles per hour at AC-1 (resistive load), 800 at AC-3 (motor starting), and 250 at AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating matches the AC-3 figure at 800 1/h, so for standard squirrel-cage motor duty you're well within the mechanical life of 5 000 000 operations typical. Inrush current peak is 43 A — that's the coil inrush, not the main contacts. The coil draw is 2 VA at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, so the control transformer sizing is straightforward: a 50 VA transformer can drive about 25 of these contactors simultaneously.
