Mounting and Integration
The 3RT2037-1AL20: Mounts via screw or snap-on onto standard 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The mounting position is flexible — +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5°. That's handy when you're shoehorning this into a crowded panel and the rail isn't perfectly straight. Dimensions: 114 mm high, 55 mm wide, 130 mm deep. Clearances: 10 mm upwards, forwards, and downwards; 6 mm at the sides. That 130 mm depth means it'll sit deep in a 200 mm enclosure, but check your gland plate clearance if you're back-to-back with another row.
Ratings and What They Mean in Practice
The headline number is 65 A at 480 V in AC-3 duty — that's the motor-switching current, not the resistive load. For resistive loads (AC-1), the switching rate maxes out at 800 cycles per hour; for AC-3 motor starts, it's 700 per hour. AC-4 (plugging/reversing) drops to 200 per hour. The coil draws 0.36 A at 50 Hz and 0.39 A at 60 Hz. For DC switching: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, 0.6 A at 440 V. The auxiliary switch is included — no add-on module needed for basic status feedback. Mechanical life is typical 10 million operations. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage from -55 to +80 °C. That covers most indoor panel environments, but if it's sitting in a non-climate-controlled warehouse, the storage range is generous.
