What this contactor is and what it switches
The Siemens 3RT2037-1AR60 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the Size S2 frame, rated for 65 A at 480 V in AC-3 duty — that's the motor-switching curve, so it handles induction motor loads up to that current without welding the main contacts on break. The coil termination uses screw-type terminals, and the main and auxiliary contacts are also screw-terminated; the terminal accepts 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²). Mechanical life is rated at 10,000,000 operations typical for the contactor; electrical life varies by duty cycle — 800 operations per hour at AC-1, 700 at AC-3, 400 at AC-2, and 200 at AC-4.
Mounting and panel fit
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward or backward — useful when the gland plate or busbar layout forces an angled install. Dimensions: 55 mm wide, 114 mm high, 130 mm deep. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 6 mm at the sides. That 130 mm depth is the body only — allow additional clearance for the screw-terminal wiring and any arc-chamber venting.
Switching ratings across voltages and duties
The auxiliary contact switching capacity is rated per voltage: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.6 A at 440 V — these are the make/break limits for the auxiliary circuit, not the main poles. The main contactor is rated for 10 hp at 230 V and 65 A at 480 V AC-3. The coil operates at 50/60 Hz, with a rated control supply voltage of 400 V at 50 Hz. Arcing time is 10 to 20 ms; the closing time (AC) is 10 to 18 ms. These are the mechanical switching times, not including any external suppression network.
