The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2038-1AG60 is a size S2 power contactor rated for motor switching at 65 A in AC-3 duty at 480 V — that's the number that governs motor load fit, not the AC-1 resistive rating. At 230 V it carries 15 hp, so it's sized for a 15 hp motor on a 230 V line or roughly a 30 hp motor at 480 V (double-check the NEC table for your voltage). The coil terminals are screw-type, and the main contacts accept 2x (0.75... 2.5 mm²) stranded or solid. Operating range is -25 to +60 °C, so it handles most panel ambient conditions without derating.
Mounting and integration
Mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with screw and snap-on fastening. The 55 mm width is the S2 frame footprint — standard for this class. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, forwards, and downwards; 6 mm at the side. It can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted forward/backward ±22.5°. The auxiliary switch is built in (18...1 configuration on main contacts), so no separate add-on block is needed for basic signaling.
