What the 65 A rating means for motor loads
The headline figure is 65 A at 480 V, but that is the AC-3 motor-switching rating — the one that governs real induction-motor duty on pumps, conveyors, and fans. At 480 V AC-3, this contactor handles 65 A of motor starting current, which corresponds roughly to a 50 hp motor at that voltage — enough for a medium compressor or a large conveyor drive.
Coil voltage and control wiring
The coil is wound for 200 V at 50 Hz, with a rated operating current of 0.36 A at 50 Hz and 0.39 A at 60 Hz — standard control transformer tap for European 400 V panels with a 200 V control bus. Coil terminals are screw-type, accepting 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) stranded — common sizes for control wiring in a panel.
It carries an auxiliary switch (screw-terminal block), which means you can wire a feedback signal to the PLC without adding a separate auxiliary contact block for basic status monitoring.
