SIRIUS Size S2 — 65 A at 480 V, spring-type coil terminals
The 3RT2038-3AH00: The AC-3 rating governs the real-world motor start and run current; at 480 V it handles a 15 hp motor. The magnet coil uses spring-type terminals — tool-less wiring for the control circuit. That's another SKU I don't need for coil wiring: no ferrule crimp required on the coil side.
Panel fit — 55 mm wide, 130 mm deep
The contactor footprint is 55 mm wide by 114 mm high by 130 mm deep. The 55 mm width is the DIN-rail footprint — it occupies three standard 18 mm module positions plus a 1 mm air gap. The 130 mm depth means the contactor body extends well behind the rail; check the enclosure depth before committing. These are the minimum air gaps to adjacent metalwork or other devices for heat dissipation and arc flash clearance. The arcing time is 10... 20 ms — the side clearance of 6 mm is the tightest constraint; keep that side free of wiring ducts.
Lifecycle and sourcing — active production, quoted to order
The lifecycle stage is current — Siemens still manufactures this part.
