SIRIUS Size S2 power contactor — 65 A at 480 V, spring-type coil terminals
The Siemens 3RT2038-3AL20-1AA0 is a SIRIUS Size S2 power contactor rated for 65 A at 480 V in AC-3 duty, making it suited for switching three-phase motor loads up to that current in a standard 480 V distribution panel. The coil connection uses spring-type terminals, which speed wiring and resist vibration loosening compared to screw clamps. The contactor carries an auxiliary switch block with a configuration of 18 normally-open and 1 normally-closed main contacts, giving flexibility for feedback or interlock circuits without an add-on block.

The contactor mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715. Maximum operating frequency varies by duty: 700 operations per hour at AC-1 (resistive), 350/h at AC-2 (slip-ring motors), 500/h at AC-3 (squirrel-cage motors), and 150/h at AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating also lists 500/h. Arcing time is 10 to 20 ms; switching time at AC is 10 to 18 ms.
