Panel fit and clearance envelope
The 3RT2038-3AP00 occupies a 55 mm wide by 114 mm tall by 130 mm deep footprint on the DIN rail.
Duty-cycle ratings and switching frequency
The headline rating is 65 A at 480 V in AC-3 duty — that is the motor-switching current for squirrel-cage motors under starting and running conditions. For resistive loads (AC-1) the maximum switching rate is 700 operations per hour; for AC-3 motor duty it drops to 500 per hour, and for the most severe AC-4 plugging/reversing duty it is 150 per hour. These limits govern the contactor's thermal recovery between operations, not the coil response. Arcing time spans 10 to 20 ms, and the magnet-coil drop-out response is 10 to 18 ms at AC — the combination means a downstream PLC input filter should be set to at least 30 ms to avoid catching the contactor's own transient as a false edge.
Auxiliary contact capacity and coil wiring
The contactor ships with an auxiliary switch block (18 to 1 configuration — normally open and normally closed contacts as specified by the order-code suffix). If the control circuit runs at 48 V or 60 V, the auxiliary contacts break 2 A. The magnet coil terminates on spring-type terminals — no screw torque to verify, which saves a step during panel build and under IOQ verification.
