It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with mounting position flexibility: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° forward/backward tilt. The magnet coil uses spring-type terminals, and the main contacts accept 2x (0.5…2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. Dimensions are 55 mm wide, 114 mm high, and 130 mm deep — the width is the key panel-spacing constraint; side clearance to adjacent devices is 6 mm, while forward/upward/downward clearance is 10 mm.
The 3RT2038-3AP60 carries AC-1 (resistive) max operating frequency of 700 1/h, AC-3 (motor starting) at 500 1/h, AC-4 (plugging/inching) at 150 1/h, and AC-3e at 500 1/h. Arcing time is 10…20 ms, and operate time (AC) is 10…18 ms. Auxiliary contacts are built in (18…1 configuration for main contacts). For a furnace or process line where the contactor cycles a burner blower or recirculation fan under AC-3 duty, the 500 operations-per-hour ceiling means a cycle every 7.2 seconds minimum — sufficient for most start/stop profiles but not for rapid jogging. The AC-4 limit of 150 1/h is the hard constraint for reversing or inching applications.
The 55 mm width fits standard 35 mm DIN-rail enclosures — one 3RT2038-3AP60 occupies 3.5 TE (1 TE = 18 mm) on a DIN rail. Side clearance of 6 mm to adjacent devices is sufficient for airflow and wiring access; forward clearance of 10 mm is needed for the spring-type coil terminals. Screw mounting is an option if snap-on is not preferred.
