SIRIUS S2 power contactor — 3RT2038-3NB30-0CC0
The Siemens 3RT2038-3NB30-0CC0 is a SIRIUS S2-frame power contactor with a 20-33 V coil and spring-type terminals on the coil side. It snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 or screws directly to a backplate — the mounting position is flexible: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus ±22.5° tilt forward/backward. That matters when you're shoehorning it into a crowded panel and the busbars don't line up.
This contactor is rated for different switching frequencies depending on the duty class. At AC-1 (resistive loads) it handles 700 operations per hour. AC-3 (standard motor starting) drops to 500 ops/h. AC-4 (plugging/reversing/inching) is the hard one — only 150 ops/h. If your application cycles a motor in reverse every 20 seconds, the AC-4 limit is the one that governs contact life, not the AC-3 number. The arcing time sits at 10-20 ms, which is typical for this frame size.
The 3RT2038-3NB30-0CC0 measures 55 mm wide, 130 mm deep, and 114 mm tall. That 6 mm side gap is tighter than some contactors — if you're packing multiple units side-by-side, verify the heat dissipation won't stack. The spring-type coil terminals are the same gauge range.
