Duty-cycle limits and auxiliary contact ratings
Switching frequency caps vary by duty class: 1 000 cycles/hour in AC-3 and AC-3e, 900 in AC-1, 400 in AC-2, and 300 in AC-4. The magnet coil draws 0.36 A at 50 Hz and 0.4 A at 60 Hz — the slight increase at 60 Hz is normal for AC-operated coils and does not indicate a fault.
Panel clearance and temperature envelope
These are the minimum air gaps for natural convection cooling — crowding the contactor below these clearances will raise the internal temperature above the -25 to +60 °C operating range. The physical envelope is 140 mm height, 70 mm width, and 152 mm depth — the depth dimension is the one that catches panel designers off guard if they budget for a standard S2 footprint.
