SIRIUS S3 power contactor — 83-155 V coil, spring-terminals
The 3RT2045-3NF30 is a Siemens SIRIUS power contactor in the S3 frame size, rated for a control supply voltage of 83-155 V AC/DC. The magnet coil uses spring-type terminals for fast wiring, and the main circuit accepts solid conductors from 2.5 to 16 mm² or stranded up to 70 mm².
Panel fit and clearance — 152 mm depth, 70 mm width
The S3 contactor measures 152 mm deep by 70 mm wide by 140 mm high. Required clearance around the contactor is 10 mm upwards, downwards, and to the sides, with 20 mm forward clearance for arc chute venting. Arcing time is 10-20 ms — the 20 mm forward gap keeps ionised gases clear of adjacent components.
Duty cycle and switching frequency — AC-3 at 1000 cycles/hour
Rated for AC-3 motor duty at up to 1000 switching cycles per hour, with AC-1 resistive load at 900 cycles/hour and AC-4 inching/jogging at 300 cycles/hour.
