The Siemens 3RT2046-1AM20 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S3, intended for motor load switching in industrial control panels. Its AC-3 duty rating permits up to 850 switching cycles per hour at full motor current — a figure that sets the cycle budget for starting and stopping induction motors under load. Mounting and Wiring
This contactor mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The mounting position is flexible: the device can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted forward or backward ±22.5°, which helps when fitting into cramped sub-panels. Solid conductors from 2.5 to 16 mm² and stranded conductors up to 70 mm² are accepted at the screw-type coil terminals. The unit occupies 70 mm width, 140 mm height, and 152 mm depth.
