Mounting and integration
The 3RT2046-1AN20: Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. Mounting position is flexible: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus ±22.5° tilt forward or backward. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm to the side, and 20 mm forwards. The 70 mm width and 140 mm height fit standard S3 panel cutouts; depth is 152 mm including terminals.
Wiring and ratings
Screw terminals accept solid conductors from 2.5 to 16 mm² and stranded from 6 to 70 mm². Fine-stranded (with ferrule) can be doubled: 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²). Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. Power loss at 50 Hz is 0.35 W, at 60 Hz is 0.41 W. Operating time at AC is 10 to 21 ms; arcing time is 10 to 20 ms. Auxiliary switch is included.
Switching frequency and capacity
Maximum switching rates: 900/h at AC-1 (resistive), 350/h at AC-2 (slip-ring motor), 850/h at AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor starting), 250/h at AC-4 (plugging/inching). AC-3e maximum is also 850/h. For auxiliary contacts at 24 V rated value the switching capacity is 10 A; at 48 V it is 2 A; at 60 V it is 2 A; at 110 V it is 1 A; at 125 V it is 0.9 A; at 220 V it is 0.3 A; at 230 V it is 20 hp; at 400 V it is 3 A; at 440 V it is 0.8 A.
