Integrator note — SIRIUS S3 contactor 3RT2046-1AQ20
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2046-1AQ20 is a size S3 power contactor with screw-type terminals, designed for screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715. It occupies a 70 mm width, 140 mm height, and 152 mm depth on the rail, with clearance requirements of 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 20 mm forwards, and 10 mm at the side. Wire range accepts 2.5 to 16 mm² solid conductors and 6 to 70 mm² stranded conductors on the main circuit. Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5° on a vertical mounting surface.
Duty-cycle switching frequencies and auxiliary contact ratings
Maximum switching frequency varies by duty: 900 operations/hour at AC-1, 350 at AC-2, 850 at AC-3 (and AC-3e), and 250 at AC-4. Auxiliary switch contacts are rated at 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.8 A at 440 V. Arcing time is 10 to 20 ms, with a make time of 10 to 21 ms at AC.
Environmental and mechanical endurance
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. Mechanical endurance of the contactor is typically 10,000,000 operations.
