The Siemens 3RT2046-1CL24-3MA0 is a SIRIUS-branded power contactor in size S3, with a 24 VDC magnet coil terminated at screw-type terminals and an integrated auxiliary switch block. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715, with a ±180° rotation allowance on vertical surfaces and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when fitting into a crowded gland plate or backpanel where orientation is tight.
Panel fit and wiring envelope
At 70 mm wide, 140 mm tall, and 195 mm deep, the S3 frame fits standard IEC enclosure footprints. The main power circuit accepts solid conductors from 2.5 to 16 mm² and stranded from 6 to 70 mm² — covers most motor feeder sizes up to the contactor's rating. Auxiliary control wiring accepts 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded. Clearance spacing: 10 mm upwards, downwards, and sideways; 20 mm forward for arcing. Arcing time is 10 to 20 ms, and the contactor's own switching frequency varies by duty class: 900 cycles/hour at AC-1, 850 at AC-3/AC-3e, 350 at AC-2, and 250 at AC-4.
Auxiliary contact ratings and environmental limits
The built-in auxiliary switch is rated for switching at various control voltages: 6 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V or 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.8 A at 440 V. The coil draws 0.38 A at 50 Hz and 0.85 to 1.1 A at 60 Hz.
