SIRIUS S3 Coupling Contactor — 24 VDC Coil
The 24 VDC coil draws a 2.7 A inrush peak, then holds at the rated coil voltage — compatible with standard 24 VDC PLC outputs when the inrush is within the output's short-circuit current rating. Rated for AC-3 switching at 850 operations per hour, this contactor handles the typical motor starting duty cycle for conveyors, pumps, and fans. The AC-3e rating matches the same 850 1/h ceiling, reflecting the IEC 60947-4-1 standard for motor switching.
DIN-Rail Mount & Wiring Clearances
The 70 mm width, 140 mm height, and 152 mm depth fit standard panel layouts — allow 10 mm clearance upwards, 10 mm downwards, 20 mm forwards, and 10 mm at the side for heat dissipation and arc flash. Power wiring accepts 2.5 to 16 mm² solid conductors on the main contacts, and 6 to 70 mm² stranded — covering most motor circuit sizes up to the S3 frame rating. The magnet coil uses screw-type terminals.
Switching Performance & Coil Data
Arcing time runs 10 to 20 ms, with a DC make/break time of 38 to 57 ms — the contactor closes firmly before the arcing extinguishes. Shock resistance is 16.3g at 5 ms and 10g at 10 ms under AC conditions, suitable for industrial environments with moderate vibration. The coil operates at 24 VDC with a pick-up threshold of 0.8× rated value and a dropout of 1.2× full-scale value. Inrush current peaks at 2.7 A, then settles to the holding current — the 24 VDC coil is directly drivable from a PLC output if the output can handle the inrush transient.
