What it is
The Siemens 3RT2046-1KB44-3MA0 is a SIRIUS S3 coupling contactor — the same frame used across the 3RT2 line, sized for motor and resistive switching in control panels. The coil pulls 24 V DC with a 2.7 A inrush peak. Main contacts accept solid conductors from 2.5 to 16 mm² and stranded from 6 to 70 mm². Dimensions are 70 x 140 x 195 mm (WxHxD). It screws or snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. Mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward.
Wiring and environment
Coil terminals are screw-type. An auxiliary switch is built in. Ambient operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C; storage range -55 to +80 °C. Keep 10 mm clearance to the sides and top, 20 mm forward for arc ventilation.
