SIRIUS S3 power contactor — 83–150 V coil, screw terminals
The Siemens 3RT2046-1SF30 is a SIRIUS size S3 power contactor with a screw-type magnet coil rated for 83–150 V at 50/60 Hz (2.4 VA inrush) and the same range for DC operation. It mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 or screws directly to a panel, with ±180° rotation and ±22.5° tilt allowed on vertical surfaces. The 70 mm width and 152 mm depth fit standard enclosure layouts; clearance of 10 mm above/below and 20 mm forward keeps heat dissipation predictable.
Duty-cycle ratings and mechanical endurance
Switching frequency depends on the load: AC-1 (resistive) allows 900 operations per hour, AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor starting) 850/h, AC-2 (slip-ring motor) 350/h, and AC-4 (plugging/inching) 250/h. The AC-3e rating also sits at 850/h. Mechanical endurance is 5 million operations typical, and the listed MTBF of 52 a gives a reliability baseline for critical-spare planning.
Coil and auxiliary contact details
The coil draws 25 A peak inrush at 24 V rated value and holds at 10 A continuous; at 48 V and 60 V the holding current drops to 2 A. An auxiliary switch is built in. Main contact wire range accepts 2.5–16 mm² solid or 6–70 mm² stranded; auxiliary contacts take 0.5–2.5 mm².
