What This Siemens 3RT2046-3AN20 SIRIUS Power Contactor Is
It is a current-production part. The coil termination uses spring-type terminals, which speeds up panel wiring — no screwdriver needed for the magnet coil connection, just strip and push. The main and auxiliary terminals accept solid conductors from 2.5 to 16 mm² and stranded from 6 to 70 mm², covering a wide range of motor feeder sizes. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and the mounting position is flexible — you can rotate it ±180° on a vertical surface or tilt it forward/backward ±22.5°, which helps when you're squeezing it into a tight enclosure corner.
For resistive loads (AC-1) it's rated at 900 1/h, and for the tougher AC-4 plugging/reversing duty it drops to 250 1/h. The AC-3e rating (850 1/h) mirrors the standard AC-3 figure, confirming it's optimized for motor starting. The auxiliary contact ratings span 24 V at 10 A down to 440 V at 0.8 A, covering standard control voltages on the line.
