It occupies 70 mm width on the rail, with a depth of 152 mm and height of 140 mm — factor that into your gland plate and enclosure depth calculations. The magnet coil connection uses spring-type terminals, accepting solid conductors 2.5... 16 mm² or stranded 6... 70 mm². For auxiliary wiring, the terminal accepts 2x (0.5... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded. These are the minimums for arc flash and cooling — don't crowd the enclosure.
Duty-cycle and switching frequency
The 3RT2046-3AP60 carries rated switching frequencies per duty class: AC-1 (resistive) at 900 operations/hour maximum, AC-2 (slip-ring motor) at 350 ops/h, AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor starting) at 850 ops/h, and AC-4 (plugging/inching) at 250 ops/h. The AC-3e rating matches the AC-3 figure at 850 ops/h. For a conveyor or pump starting under full load, the AC-3 ceiling governs your cycle time. Arcing time is 10... 20 ms at AC. Main contact configuration is 10... 2. Mechanical endurance is typical 10,000,000 operations.
The auxiliary switch is rated for DC switching at various voltages: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.8 A at 440 V. At 230 V AC the rating is 20 hp. These are the make/break capacities — don't exceed them for DC inductive loads without derating.
