SIRIUS S3 power contactor — 96 A at 480 V, screw terminals, DIN-rail mount
It carries a rated operational current of 96 A at 480 V in AC-3 duty — the motor-switching curve that governs most conveyor, pump, and fan loads. The auxiliary contacts are rated 6 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48/60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.8 A at 440 V, covering the control-circuit voltages you typically find in mixed-voltage panels. Mounting is screw-fixed or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with a ±180° rotation possible on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward. The contactor occupies 70 mm width × 140 mm height × 195 mm depth — a standard S3 footprint that drops into existing panel layouts without re-drilling the backplate.
Duty-cycle switching frequencies and thermal limits
Maximum switching rates vary by duty class: 900 cycles/hour in AC-1 (resistive loads), 850 cycles/hour in AC-3 and AC-3e (standard motor starting), 350 cycles/hour in AC-2 (slip-ring motor), and 200 cycles/hour in AC-4 (plugging/inching). The arcing time spans 10 to 20 ms at 50 Hz, with a pickup dropout delay of 10 to 21 ms at AC.
Main-circuit terminals accept solid conductors from 2.5 to 16 mm² and stranded conductors from 6 to 70 mm². Auxiliary/coil terminals accept 2×(0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or 2×(0.75 to 2.5 mm²) stranded. The screw-type coil terminals are clearly marked; verify free-wheel diode polarity on DC coils before energizing inductive loads downstream.
