Standing mount on a horizontal surface is the specified orientation — plan the enclosure layout around that. That's tight enough for a crowded panel, but don't forget the 10 mm forward gap for wiring access to the spring-loaded terminals.
Coil and switching specs
The magnet coil pulls 0.25 A at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, rated 230 V AC. That's a standard control voltage for European panels — no surprises. AC-3 motor duty at 400 V is 4 kW, and the AC-4 rating (inching/jogging) is the same 4 kW, so this contactor handles reversing or plugging without derating for the same motor size. Arcing time runs 10 to 15 ms, with a total operating time of 7 to 13 ms at AC. The rated impulse withstand voltage on the main circuit is 6 kV — coordination with upstream protection is straightforward for a standard distribution panel.
Termination: spring-loaded throughout
Both the main current circuit and the magnet coil use spring-type (spring-loaded) terminals. The main contacts accept 2x 0.5 to 2.5 mm² solid or 2x 0.5 to 4 mm² stranded; auxiliary contacts take 2x 0.5 to 2.5 mm² solid or stranded. No screwdriver torque to remember — strip, insert, done. That's the kind of detail that saves time on a line-down swap.
