The Siemens 3RT2336-1AB00 is a SIRIUS S2-frame contactor with a 24 VAC 50 Hz coil, screw-type coil terminals, and a 1 N/O + 1 N/C main contact configuration. It includes an auxiliary switch, which saves a separate add-on block for basic signal feedback. The S2 frame size positions it as a mid-range unit in the SIRIUS family, suited for motor loads and resistive switching in control panels up to roughly 7.5 kW at 400 V (AC-3 duty, typical for this frame). These are the minimum air gaps to maintain rated insulation; a panel builder can pack units tighter only if the side-by-side mounting allowance is used.
The auxiliary switch is built-in and rated across a voltage range: 10 A at 24 V, 10 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, 1 A at 690 V (all AC). These are the thermal current ratings for the auxiliary contacts — they define the maximum continuous current the auxiliary circuit can carry at each voltage level. For a 24 V control circuit, the 10 A rating is generous; at 690 V the 1 A limit reflects the reduced arc-quenching capability at higher voltage. The -40 °C low end is relevant for cold environments; the +70 °C high end is typical for enclosed panels with moderate heat rise. Switching times: closing time 10–18 ms AC, arcing time 10–20 ms. These are fast enough for most sequencing applications; the arcing time matters for coordination with upstream fuses or breakers in a short-circuit scenario. Wire termination: solid or stranded conductors 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²) and 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²) per terminal. The screw-type coil terminals accept the same range. This covers standard control wiring up to 2.5 mm²; larger power wiring for the main circuit would need a different contactor frame. Up to 2 auxiliary contact blocks can be attached to this contactor, expanding the signal feedback capability beyond the built-in switch.
