The Siemens 3RT2336-1AM20 is a SIRIUS Size S2 contactor with a 208 V AC coil rated for both 50 Hz and 60 Hz operation. The coil draws 0.36 A at 50 Hz and 0.39 A at 60 Hz — a tight tolerance that means the same control transformer sizing works across line frequencies.
The body dimensions are 75 mm wide, 114 mm tall, 130 mm deep — a standard S2 footprint that drops into existing SIRIUS panel layouts without re-drilling. Clearance requirements are tight: 10 mm above, below, and in front, and only 6 mm to the side. That side clearance is the one that catches people — if you're packing multiple contactors side-by-side, leave at least 6 mm between units for cooling and wiring access.
The magnet coil uses screw-type terminals. Main circuit and auxiliary contacts accept solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) per clamp. That's enough for standard control wiring up to 14 AWG, but if you're paralleling heavier motor leads, check the terminal capacity against your cable size.
The built-in auxiliary contacts are rated for switching at multiple voltage levels: 10 A at 24 V AC and at 230 V AC, 6 A at 60 V, 3 A at 400 V, 2 A at 48 V and 500 V, 1 A at 110 V and 690 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V. The 10 A rating at both 24 V and 230 V covers most PLC output and relay interface duties without derating.
Environmental range
That covers unheated enclosures in cold climates and warm cabinet interiors near drives or transformers.
