SIRIUS Size S3 contactor — panel fit and mounting
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2344-1AV00 is a Size S3 contactor built for screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. That means it drops into a standard panel footprint without adapter plates — the S3 frame carries the main power terminations and an integrated auxiliary switch block. Mounting position is flexible: the contactor can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted forward or backward by ±22.5° on that same vertical surface, which helps when routing cables in a crowded enclosure. Main power conductors accept stranded wire from 6 to 70 mm², covering the range for motor circuits up to the S3 current class. Auxiliary and coil connections use screw-type terminals sized for 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) stranded.
