Part identity and deployment
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2346-1NP30-4AA0 is a size S3 contactor with a 175-280 V AC/DC coil terminated via screw-type terminals. It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, which is the standard for panel integration in industrial control cabinets.
Coil and switching behaviour
Coil pickup and dropout times are identical for AC and DC: 38-57 ms for closing, with an arcing time of 10-20 ms. The inrush current peak hits 65 A, so the control transformer or PLC output driving this coil needs to handle that surge without voltage sag. Holding power at 50/60 Hz is 3.5 VA.
Wiring and termination
Main power terminals accept stranded conductors from 6 to 70 mm² — that covers motor feeds up to roughly 50-60 A depending on duty. Auxiliary and coil terminals accept solid or stranded wire: 2x (0.5-1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75-2.5 mm²). The auxiliary switch is present on this variant, so you get at least one N.O./N.C. set for feedback or interlocking.
Environmental and mounting flexibility
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage from -55 to +80 °C. The contactor can be mounted in any orientation — +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward — which helps when fitting into tight enclosures. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 20 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm at the side.
