SIRIUS S3 contactor, 110 VAC coil, screw terminals
The Siemens 3RT2348-1AF00 is a SIRIUS S3 contactor with a 110 VAC 50 Hz coil, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in industrial control panels. Main circuit wiring accepts stranded conductors from 6 to 70 mm², covering a broad range of motor feeder sizes up to the S3 frame rating. The coil connection uses screw-type terminals, with auxiliary wiring accepting 0.5 to 2.5 mm² solid or stranded. Rated for operation from -25 to +60 °C and storage from -55 to +80 °C, it handles typical panel ambient conditions without derating concerns. Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward, giving flexibility in tight enclosures.
The S3 footprint measures 96 mm wide by 140 mm high by 152 mm deep, occupying three or four adjacent DIN-rail positions depending on auxiliary contact stacking. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 20 mm forwards, and 10 mm at the side for heat dissipation and wiring access. One instantaneous auxiliary contact is included as standard, with provision to attach up to two additional auxiliary switch blocks. The main contact arcing time is 10 to 20 ms; the coil operates on AC with a pick-up/drop-out time of 10 to 21 ms.
