The 3RT2348-1AL20 is a SIRIUS contactor in size S3 — the frame that carries the main power connections for motor and resistive loads up to the S3 current band.
Panel fit and clearance envelope
The S3 envelope measures 96 mm wide, 140 mm high, and 152 mm deep. In a typical 600 mm deep enclosure, the 152 mm depth plus 20 mm forward clearance leaves room for ducting and door clearance.
Termination and auxiliary contacts
Main circuit power connections accept stranded wire from 6 to 70 mm² — that covers everything from 10 AWG to 2/0 AWG, so no adapter lugs needed for the common motor feeder sizes. The magnet coil uses screw-type terminals, field-serviceable with a standard slotted or Pozidriv driver. The contactor ships with an auxiliary switch built in; up to two additional auxiliary switch blocks can be attached, expanding the NO/NC count from the base 10 to 2 configuration.
For motor switching (AC-3 duty), electrical life will be lower and depends on the switched current and number of starts per hour.
