SIRIUS S00 contactor, 400 V 50 Hz coil — panel-fit and ratings
The Siemens 3RT2516-1AR60 is a SIRIUS contactor in the compact S00 frame size, built for switching motor and resistive loads in control panels. Its 400 V 50 Hz coil pulls in reliably within the S00 coil power budget, and the screw-type coil terminals accept solid or stranded conductors up to 4 mm² per clamp. The 45 mm width and 73 mm depth let it nest three-across on a standard 35 mm DIN rail without crowding the wiring trough. Operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C.
Auxiliary contact ratings — what the numbers mean for your circuit
This contactor carries a built-in auxiliary switch. The voltage-specific current ratings tell you what the auxiliary contacts can safely break at different DC voltage levels. At 24 V it switches 10 A; at 48 V and 60 V it handles 2 A; at 110 V it drops to 1 A; at 220 V it's 0.3 A; at 600 V it's 0.1 A. For AC loads, at 230 V it switches 10 A, and at 400 V it switches 3 A. These figures govern the auxiliary circuit — a PLC input or a holding relay — not the main power path. The arcing time is 10 to 15 ms, typical for a DC break in this frame size.
Mounting flexibility and clearance
Fastening is screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and it can be tilted forward and backward by +/-22.5° on a vertical surface. Side-by-side mounting is supported with a 6 mm lateral clearance. No vertical clearance needed above, below, forward, or backward in free-air mounting — useful when packing multiple contactors into a tight sub-panel.
