It mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022 using screw or snap-on fastening, and the mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface plus +/-22.5° tilt forward or backward — handy when you're fitting it into a tight panel corner and can't rotate the whole subplate.
At the higher end, it's good for 3 A at 400 V and 1 A at 690 V, so it can switch some control transformer primaries or small contactor coils directly, but watch the voltage class: the 0.1 A at 600 V rating tells you this isn't for heavy power circuits; it's an auxiliary contact, not a main pole. At 75 mm wide by 114 mm tall by 130 mm deep, the S2 footprint is a known quantity in Siemens panels — it's the same envelope as the 3RT2535-1AD00 and the 3RT2535-1AB00, so swapping between those variants is a straight mechanical drop with no re-drilling or DIN rail repositioning.
Termination and wire sizes
Screw-type terminals on the coil accept solid or stranded wire: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) and 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²). That covers standard control wiring up to 14 AWG. If your panel uses ferruled ends, the 0.5 mm² minimum means you can land small-signal wires without needing an adapter.
Environmental range and clearance
Side clearance is 10 mm, forward and backward clearance is 0 mm (flush mounting), and 50 mm above and below. That's a tight fit; you can pack contactors side-by-side with minimal gap.
Switching performance
Arcing time runs 10 to 20 ms, and the mechanical operating rate at AC-1 maximum is 1,200 cycles per hour. Coil pick-up and drop-out times are also 10 to 18 ms — consistent with a standard AC-operated contactor.
