What this SIRIUS contactor is
The Siemens 3RT2535-1AP60 is a Size S2 SIRIUS contactor — the frame size that tells you the physical envelope and typical current-handling class for motor switching in a control panel. It mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, using either the integrated snap-on clips or screws through the base, and the mounting position can rotate ±180° on a vertical surface or tilt ±22.5° forward/backward, which gives flexibility in tight enclosures. This variant carries an auxiliary switch block as standard, so you get a set of built-in auxiliary contacts without needing a separate side-mount module. The coil terminals are screw-type, and the main power and auxiliary wiring accept solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) per clamp.
The auxiliary contacts are rated across a wide voltage range — 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, down to 0.1 A at 600 V. These are the continuous thermal current ratings (Ith) for the auxiliary circuit, so they govern what signal loads or small relays you can switch through the built-in aux contacts. If your PLC output or control relay draws more than these limits at the applied voltage, you need an interposing relay. Electrical life depends on the switched current and voltage; the maximum switching rate at AC-1 (resistive load) is 1,200 operations per hour.
Panel integration and clearances
Physical envelope: 75 mm wide, 114 mm high, 130 mm deep. That depth includes the coil terminals and arc chamber — check your enclosure depth against 130 mm plus wiring bend radius. Minimum clearances to adjacent components: 50 mm above and below, 10 mm to the sides, 0 mm forward and backward from the mounting surface. These are the Siemens-recommended spacings for heat dissipation and arc flash containment.
