SIRIUS S3 contactor, 24 VDC coil — panel fit and ratings
It mounts via screw fixing or snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and the mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface plus ±22.5° tilt forward or backward — useful when fitting into tight enclosure layouts. The coil is 24 VDC, pulling 0.36 A at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz. The magnet coil termination uses screw-type terminals, and the auxiliary switch is included. The contactor's envelope is 152 mm deep, 70 mm wide, 140 mm tall — the S3 frame size is a common footprint in Siemens SIRIUS lineups, so panel cutouts and busbar layouts from other S3 contactors should match.
Wiring capacity and auxiliary contact ratings
Power-side wiring accepts stranded conductors: 2x (6…16 mm²), 2x (10…50 mm²), or 1x (10…70 mm²). Control-side terminals take solid or stranded 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²). This gives flexibility for both main motor feeders and smaller control wiring in the same block. Auxiliary contact ratings span the common control voltages: 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, 2 A at 48 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 1.8 A at 440 V, 2 A at 500 V, and 0.1 A at 600 V. These cover most PLC and relay interface voltages in industrial panels.
