SIRIUS S3 contactor, 70 mm wide, 152 mm deep
The Siemens 3RT2545-1AF00 is a SIRIUS S3 contactor with screw-type coil terminals and an integrated auxiliary switch. It measures 70 mm wide by 140 mm high by 152 mm deep — the 152 mm depth is the dimension to check against gland-plate clearance or enclosure back-wall obstructions before you cut the backplate.
Terminal capacity and auxiliary contact ratings
Power terminals accept stranded wire: 2x (6 to 16 mm²), 2x (10 to 50 mm²), or 1x (10 to 70 mm²). Solid/stranded auxiliary terminal range is 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) and 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²). The auxiliary switch is present on this variant, so the control wiring lands on screw terminals with a 0.5 mm² minimum — fine for PLC digital outputs or relay contacts. Auxiliary contact ratings span the common control voltages: 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, 1 A at 690 V. The 24 V 10 A rating handles a modest pilot-duty load; the 690 V 1 A rating is the limit for switching a contactor coil in a 690 V line.
Clearance and side-by-side mounting
Side-by-side mounting is permitted, saving DIN-rail space in multi-contactor groups. Required clearances: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm at the side, 0 mm forwards, 0 mm backwards. The zero forward/backward clearance means the contactor can be stacked against a panel wall or adjacent device without an air gap — useful in dense cabinets.
