Capacitor switching — not a general-purpose contactor
The 3RT2627-1AP05 is a SIRIUS capacitor contactor, size S0, built specifically for switching power factor correction capacitor banks — not for motor or resistive loads. The internal damping circuit limits inrush current on capacitor energisation, which a standard contactor would weld shut on. Screw-type coil terminals — no push-in or spring-cage option on this variant. Rated switching frequency tops out at 100 cycles per hour at 230–600 V, dropping to 72 cycles per hour at 690 V — this sets the capacitor bank cycling limit, not the contactor's thermal current.
Panel fit — 45 mm width, S0 frame
Width is 45 mm, height 135 mm, depth 155 mm — the S0 frame footprint. Stranded: 2×(1–2.5 mm²) or 2×(2.5–10 mm²). At 40 °C ambient, a single 10 mm² conductor is the maximum; at 60 °C, two 10 mm² conductors are allowed. One instantaneous NO auxiliary contact is built in — no additional auxiliary switch block attached (0 attachable auxiliary switches).
Auxiliary contact ratings across voltages
Arcing time is 10 ms typical, with AC switching between 4 and 16 ms.
