The 110 VAC 50 Hz coil draws its control voltage from a standard lighting or control transformer, and the screw-type coil terminals accept solid conductors up to 2x 4 mm² or stranded up to 1x 50 mm² — typical for panel wiring in 100–200 A distribution.
Switching ratings — what the numbers mean
Capacitor contactors are rated differently from standard motor contactors. The 3RT2636-1AF03 is specified for capacitor switching at voltages up to 690 V AC, with a maximum switching frequency that drops as voltage rises: 100 operations per hour at 230/240/400 V, 60 at 480 V, 55 at 500 V, 40 at 600 V, and 30 at 690 V. The arcing time of 10–20 ms and the switching time of 10–18 ms (at AC) are fast enough to avoid nuisance tripping of upstream fuses during inrush.
The S2 footprint — 65 mm wide, 114 mm tall, 130 mm deep — fits standard panel cutouts.
