The 3RT2646-1NF35 is a Siemens SIRIUS contactor with an 83-155 V AC/DC coil, meaning it pulls in reliably across that band and drops out below the lower threshold — no separate rectifier needed in the control circuit. Screw-type coil terminals are standard; power wiring accepts stranded conductors up to 1x 70 mm² or 2x 50 mm² at 60 °C, so it handles motor feeders up to that cross-section without a separate terminal block.
Switching rates and thermal limits
Maximum switching rate depends on the load voltage: 150 1/h at 230 V maximum, dropping to 60 1/h at 400 V, and 20 1/h at 690 V. For a motor starter cycling a conveyor at 400 V, that rate supports a start every minute — adequate for most material-handling duty, but not for rapid reversing or jogging applications where a higher-rated contactor or a dedicated reversing pair would be needed. The 60 °C top end covers most ventilated enclosures; derate the continuous current if the panel ambient exceeds 40 °C. Arcing time is 10-20 ms, and the contactor opens in 38-57 ms on both AC and DC control supplies.
